The Fallen Firefighters’ Honour Roll commemorates Western Australian volunteer and career firefighters who have lost their lives serving the community.
The last two years has seen a number of advances to the Honour Roll, with the engraving of names on the Firefighters' Memorial Grove at Kings Park and the introduction of a new, consistent and transparent approach to assessing eligibility.
Nominations for the Honour Roll can be made at any time throughout the year for recent or historical loss of lives. However, to be considered for inclusion and recognition at the 2024 International Firefighters’ Day Memorial Service, online nominations must be received by 5.00pm on Tuesday, 2 January 2024.
They will be assessed against the criteria by the Fallen Firefighters’ Honour Roll Panel in February and nominators will be advised of the outcome in March.
Those included on the Honour Roll will have their name engraved on the Firefighters’ Memorial Grove at Kings Park, included in the International Firefighters’ Day Memorial Service booklet and added to the Department of Fire and Emergency Services website.
For more information on eligibility criteria or details on how to submit an online nomination please email the Department of Fire and Emergency Services at eventsandawards@dfes.wa.gov.au.
