Please join us in congratulating Tony Dodd from Mandurah Volunteer Fire and Rescue Service on becoming a VFRS Association Life Member!
During the VFRS Association Annual General Meeting, President Paul du Boulay surprised Tony Dodd by calling him to the front of the room and presenting him with the life membership badge and certificate.
For over a decade, Tony has been bringing his wealth of knowledge and wisdom to the executive committee. Tony nominated to join the Executive because he believed that, “With my experience across a number of brigades and zones and my knowledge, both operationally and in the firefighting competitions, I felt I could contribute to the enhancement of volunteer brigades and work to improve things operationally for them,” explained Tony.
"I often call upon Tony for his insight into all kinds of matters relating to brigades, regulations, legislation, equipment, and of course the firefighting competitions," said Executive Officer Tim Sonsee.
Passionate about sport, Tony has been heavily involved in competing, coaching and the organisation of firefighting competitions during the 50 years he has been with various Volunteer Fire and Rescue Service brigades.
"Tony’s unwavering commitment to see our volunteers equipped, resourced and encouraged to respond to their communities is inspiring to each one of us," said Tim.
We would all like to thank Tony Dodd for his dedication to our volunteers and the VFRS Association.
