TK Kippin
TK became an active volunteer firefighter with Coolgardie Volunteer Fire and Rescue Services in 2011. But she wasn’t a new face around the brigade. TK had been involved with the station for over 15 years, starting in the Sub-Junior running team and gradually making her way to the Seniors Running Team.
Once becoming an active volunteer firefighter, she has had varying roles within the brigade including apparatus officer, sub-junior coach and senior assistant coach.
With her Grandad involved in both the VFRS and local SES for over 15 years, TK thought she would “best give it a shot and give back to the community.” Since then, TK has transferred to the Kambalda VFRS due to relocating for work. With wearing two Emergency Service hats, TK still volunteers with St John’s in Coolgardie, despite living in a different town.
Over the years, TK has been called out to all sorts of incidents. She says the most unique job she has been to was rescuing a plane that landed abnormally in the bush lands.
